Celebrating Saint Cecilia - patron saint of music and musicians.

Music is hugely important in the cultural landscape of Castelbuono, Sicily.

This November, like every November, we celebrate with concerts by the ‘Loreto Perrini’ marching band, held in two different churches in the heart of Castelbuono.

Saturday 22nd November 2025 18:30 - The first performance of the weekend offers a rare chance to visit the inside of the beautiful San Vincenzo church in Piazza Tenente Schicchi, which is normally closed throughout the year except for special occasions like this. This is a recital featuring the Kids and Junior Music Bands - students of the main band.

Sunday 23rd November 2025 10:30 - The Old Mother Church of Castelbuono - La Matrice Vecchia - hosts the second of the concerts featuring the Loreto Perrini Band. There’s also the presentation of a painting in honour of Santa Cecilia by local artist, M. Francesco Licciardi. Please note: this performance forms part of a holy mass so it goes without saying that full respect is essential.

Sunday 23rd November 2025 11:30 - The music continues in Piazza Margherita in front of the Matrice Vecchia and Torre dell’Orolgio (clock tower) with a musical exhibition from both the adult band and contributions from the younger players.

Anche quest'anno siamo pronti a festeggiare Santa Cecilia, patrona della musica e dei musicisti.

Appuntamento sabato 22 novembre alle ore 18.30 presso la Chiesa di San Vincenzo, per il saggio musicale della Kids and Juniors Music Band e delle formazioni musicali della Banda "Loreto Perrini" - Associazione "G. Verdi" - Castelbuono.

Domenica 23 novembre invece la nostra associazione animerà la messa delle ore 10.30 alla Matrice Vecchia, durante la quale sarà presentato alla cittadinanza il dipinto realizzato e donato dal nostro socio, maestro Francesco Licciardi, raffigurante Santa Cecilia.

A seguire alle 11.30 in piazza Margherita , esibizione musicale della banda.
