Every year on 21st June — the summer solstice — towns and cities across Europe celebrate the Festa della Musica: a day dedicated entirely to live music in public spaces, free for all to enjoy.

In Castelbuono, the celebration is organised by the Associazione Musicale G. Verdi and features the beloved Banda Loreto Perrini di Castelbuono — one of the town's most cherished musical institutions — alongside the Kids & Juniors Music Band, showcasing the next generation of young Castelbuono musicians.

The day begins at 11:00 at the Belvedere behind the castle, where the festive procession departs — a joyful parade of musicians winding through the medieval streets of the town. At 11:30, the procession arrives at Piazza Margherita for a full musical performance by the entire association — a warm, community-spirited celebration that brings locals and visitors together in one of Castelbuono's most beautiful squares.
