The Infiorata weekend reaches a breathtaking climax on Tuesday 2nd June with a day of pageantry, competition and spectacle unlike anything else in Sicily.

The afternoon begins at 15:30 with the thundering Fanfara dei Bersaglieri — Italy's famous military brass band — parading at full march through the historic centre in their distinctive plumed helmets.

At 16:30, the medieval towns of Sicily converge on Castelbuono for the Cortei Storici — a magnificent historical costume parade representing every era of Sicily's extraordinary layered history, from Norman kings to Spanish viceroys. Accompanied by bands of drummers, musicians and the extraordinary sbandieratori — expert flag-throwers whose choreographed routines are synchronised to perfection — the procession builds toward Piazza Castello in a crescendo of colour and sound.

At 18:30, Piazza Castello becomes the arena for the grand finale: the prestigious Gran Premio del Mediterraneo — Trofeo Regione Siciliana, awarded to the finest competing historical groups in the presence of civil and military authorities.

The day — and the entire Infiorata weekend — concludes with a spectacular fireworks display at 20:00, lighting up the night sky above the ancient Ventimiglia Castle. 🎆
